Play-Based Child Therapy in Brentwood: Meet Jordyn Greenberg, LSW
Hi everyone! My name is Jordyn Greenberg, a Licensed Social Worker and child therapist at Concord Family Counseling in Brentwood, TN.
I’m grateful to be joining this team and working closely with families throughout Brentwood, Franklin, and the greater Nashville area. I specialize in play-based child therapy — helping children build emotional awareness, confidence, and coping skills in a warm, supportive environment.
Why I Chose to Work With Children
I have always known I would dedicate my career to working with kids. Helping them understand their feelings, build confidence, and develop social-emotional skills is work I find deeply meaningful.
My approach to therapy is warm, playful, and collaborative. I believe children communicate best through play, and my goal is to help them make sense of their experiences in a way that feels safe and empowering.
I also believe that families and caregivers are the true experts on their child. When we work together as a team, we create the strongest foundation for meaningful and lasting growth.
A Peek Inside My Office
When you walk into my office, you’ll notice it was designed with kids in mind. From cozy seating to shelves filled with books, games, and toys, everything is intentionally chosen to spark curiosity, comfort, and connection.
Every item serves a purpose. Here are a few tools I use most often:
Therapeutic Books (such as “No, David!” or “A Bad Case of Stripes”) These stories help kids identify feelings, talk about behavior, and learn new ways to cope with everyday challenges — including anxiety, big emotions, and social situations.
Jenga With a Twist With thoughtful prompts added to each block, this game is a fun, low-pressure way to explore thoughts, feelings, and coping skills while getting to know each other.
Art Supplies Creative expression gives kids a way to communicate emotions that are sometimes too big or too complex for words.
What I Hope Every Child Feels Here
My goal is for every child who walks into my office to feel seen, safe, and supported.
I love watching kids grow more confident as they learn to manage big feelings, strengthen relationships, and recognize their own resilience. Working closely with caregivers is a big part of that process — I aim to create a space where families feel informed, involved, and empowered every step of the way.
