Play-Based Child Therapy in Brentwood: Welcoming Our Newest Therapist, Jordyn Greenberg, LSW

Hi everyone! My name is Jordyn Greenberg, a Licensed Social Worker and child therapist here at Concord Family Counseling in Brentwood, TN. I’m grateful to be joining this team and working closely with families throughout Brentwood, Franklin, and the greater Nashville area. I specialize in child therapy in Brentwood and play-based approaches to help children build emotional awareness, confidence, and coping skills in a warm and supportive environment.

I have always known I would dedicate my career to working with children – helping them understand their feelings, build confidence, and nurture social-emotional skills. My approach to therapy is warm, playful, and collaborative. I believe children communicate best through play therapy, and my goal is to help them make sense of their experiences in a way that feels safe and empowering. I also believe that families and caregivers are the true experts on their child. When working together as a team we can create the strongest foundation for meaningful and lasting growth.

My Office

When you walk into my office, you’ll notice it is designed with kids in mind. From cozy seating to shelves filled with books, games, and toys, everything is intentionally chosen to spark curiosity, comfort, and connection.

Some of My Go-To Tools

Every item in my office serves a purpose, and below I have highlighted a few that I utilize most often:

  • Books such as That’s Not Funny, David! or A Bad Case of Stripes – These (among many others!) are wonderful for helping kids identify feelings, talk about behavior, and learn new ways to cope with everyday challenges. They are great tools for support for anxiety in children and everyday emotional challenges.
  • Jenga (with a twist!) – With thoughtful prompts, this game is a fun and engaging way to get to know each other while exploring thoughts, feelings, and coping skills in a low-pressure setting.
  • Art Supplies – Utilizing creative outlets allow kids to express emotions that can sometimes be hard to put into words.

My goal as a therapist is for every child who walks into my office to feel seen, safe, and supported. I love watching kids grow more confident as they learn ways of managing big feelings, strengthen relationships, and recognize their own strengths and resilience. Working closely with caregivers and families is a big part of that process, and I aim to create a space where families feel informed, involved, and empowered every step of the way—very similar to how we approach family counseling in Franklin and surrounding communities.

I am thrilled to be part of the team at Concord Family Counseling, and I look forward to meeting more families and taking on new clients.

If you’d like to learn more about my work, I would love to connect!
