Lydia Thompson, MA, LPC-MHSP — Founder
(She/Her)
I have spent nine years working with teenagers and the families raising them. It is my specialty, and it is the reason I founded Concord Family Counseling in 2018. I am a direct and active part of the work. I do not sit back and hope things get better.
I trained specifically for this. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Play Therapy from Lipscomb University, and a Bachelor's in Psychology with a minor in Child and Family Studies from the University of Tennessee. Before Concord, I practiced at Lipscomb University's Counseling Center and The Refuge Center for Counseling.
My clinical training includes EMDR, TBRI, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, solution-focused and narrative therapy, family therapy, and parent coaching. I draw on all of it to fit the family in front of me.
About Halle Brandt, Intern
(She/Her)
I work with children, teens, and adults, using play and expressive approaches to help people understand themselves and grow. I believe that you, or your child, are the expert of your own life. I am a guest on that journey, and I walk alongside you with empathy and an open mind.
I am earning my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Play Therapy from Lipscomb University, and I practice under the direct supervision of founder Lydia Thompson, LPC-MHSP. I use evidence-based approaches including play therapy, sandtray therapy, expressive arts, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing.
I am from Franklin, and in my free time I enjoy reading horror novels, creative writing, naps in the sun, and spending time with my 3 black cats.
